With the push of a button, it is easy to plant both bulbs and plants that are up to 6cm in diameter.  With the button pressed, you push the planter into the ground, determine the insertion depth by using the scale, release the button and pull out the planter. Insertion into the ground is facilitated by the sharpened lower edge with cutting teeth. Next, insert the bulb or plant, squeeze the handle together again and the earth falls back in. You can see my one in the picture which I have had for several years - worn but well used! For planting bulbs or bedding plants and easy to use with one hand.
