This is a smaller variety of Chrysanthemum, but none the less a very pretty little one with pompom flowers that are approximately 4cm in diameter. Flower stems are borne on compact plants that are approximately 70cm in height.
Chrysanthemums need at least 5 to 6 hours of sun daily to perform at their best. They are prone to powdery mildew so need to have good air circulation, the morning sun is needed to dry the dew on the leaves and in addition to this, they need good drainage. The plants are actually pretty tough but do benefit from a light and frequent feeding with a balanced fertiliser during their period of growth which is autumn.
A fabulous cut flower that lasts so well in a vase, often for more than two weeks. Pick them when they two thirds to three-quarters open, be sure to strip all of the leaves off so they do not sit under the waterline.
