Geranium sanguineum | Glenluce | Cranesbill
Hardy Geraniums are clump-forming perennials, this lovely one grows to about 35cm tall, with spreading rhizomes., so it can fill a spot nicely in the right conditions.
The leaves have deep, narrow lobes, and the flowers, produced from spring to the end of summer, are bright, lilac-pink with darker veins. So pretty! We love how the petals look like tissue paper, very delicate looking. The bees love them.
Plant in part shade in warmer areas, but copes well in full sun generally.
Cut back after its first flush of blooms for another show, and add compost to its base to keep it happy.
Hardy herbaceous perennial.
Pot size: 1 litre
