Physostegia virginiana | Rose Crown | Obedient Plant
The same as our beautiful "Crown of Snow" but in rose pink. This spreading perennial is deciduous but looks stately at the back of the border and growing it amongst other plants will help it to remain upright. When Rose Crown flowers it flowers flat out from late-summer to late autumn. Flowers change from a deeper rose colour through pale pink dependant upon what stage of flowering they are at. Prefers full sun but will cope with partial shade.
A perfect choice for a cut flower as you move the flower stems and they will stay put...just as you have positioned them. A perfect plant choice for a cottage garden, flower beds or for the Flower Farmer for cut flowers. If using them as a cut flower, be sure to remove the foliage that would be underwater and cut at least 3cm off the bottom and use some flower food if you have it or a splash of bleach. Keep the flowers in a cool spot for a couple of hours before incorporating them into your floral work. They will also benefit from having their stems recut every couple of days and by doing this you can get up to two weeks out of them. Can be easily split once established. Loved by bees.
Height to 90cm with flowers x 60cm spread
Perennial | Hardy
