Cytisus scoparius x dallimorei | Lilac Time | Scotch Broom
Also known as spanish broom, this stunning shrub with an upright growth habit with slightly weeping branches is clothed with masses of lovely fragrant lilac-pink pea shaped flowers in spring.
Plants will perform to their best in a full sun position in free draining soil. We add some metal in with the soil when we plant to ensure we can provide these conditions.
Once established, the plants are quite drought tolerant and hardy in a light to moderate frost.
Rejuvenation pruning is accomplished by pruning one or a few of the main stems to within a 12cm of the ground. This should be done before growth begins in the spring. The plant will respond by producing new stems from the base instead of the "broom" at the end of a pruned branch.
Deciduous.
Height to 2m x 1m Wide
Plant size | 2.5 litre pot
