It is a hardy shrub that originates from north and eastern Asia from altitudes that make it a hardy choice for gardens. In spring this shrub has very pretty bell-shaped flowers that are a creamy pink. When the flowering has finished the foliage is an attractive green and once autumn arrives the foliage turns stunning shades of scarlet and gold.
