Stachys byzantina | Lambs Ears
Stachys byzantina also known as Lamb's Ears are a wonderful evergreen perennial that are mostly grown for their velvety silver tongue-shaped leaves that as the name suggests resemble lamb's ear, we use them a lot in our garden and just love them! Their fuzzy flowers add some textural interest, but we tend to remove them as by doing so it will promote more foliage growth. They are so easy to grow and will easily split to give you more plants. They thrive in either a full sun or lightly shaded area but do like well-drained soils but can tolerate poor soil. They are the perfect choice to soften hard corners and edges of paths and look lovely underplanted with Roses. The silvery leaf colour is a great foil for plants with both hot and cool colours. Plant at spacings of about 30cm and divide every few years to maintain vigour.
The leaves are a favourite for use in floral work.
Height: 30-45cm x 40-60cm Wide
Perennial | Hardy
Pot Size: 1 Litre & 2.5 Litre
