Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet' has very cute, soft, oval, woolly, grey leaves, but differs from other stachys types in that it rarely flowers. The leaves are also much smaller than the regular Lamb's Ears. It's a mini version. 😊 It's evergreen, which makes it an extremely useful front-of-border, mat-forming plant for year-round interest.

Grow Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Once established, it is reasonably drought-tolerant, so will be happy in a dry, sunny site, or gravel garden. Grows to about 15 cm tall and 40 cm wide. Something a bit different for the collectors, and really useful if time is an issue for maintenance!
