This lovely tulbaghia which hails from South Africa has dainty heads of lilac pink flowers on stems that stand proud above the attractive blue-grey foliage which has very thin white margins.
This little plant adds both colour and texture to borders and is easy care. A clump forming semi-evergreen perennial Society Garlic as it is also known had the added bonus of being drought tolerant once established.
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Plants can be easily split once established.
The foliage and roots make great garlic and chives substitutes for culinary uses. Flowers are also pretty for picking.
Perennial Hardy to about -5 degrees Celsius.
