If you are looking for a plant to feature in your garden that has attractive flowers, easy care and that is mild-mannered and won't take over your garden then this is an option for you.  Veronica longifolia "Blue Shades" is hardy so can withstand cold climates but they can conversely take the heat and drought of summer so a great all-rounder.  The vertical spires of flowers create great interest in the garden and contrast well with other flower shapes. The flowers are a beautiful clear blue - we also have it in a very pretty pink as well. 

The plants form a bushy clump of bright green leaves from which the tall erect spires of flowers grow into tall slender columns of blue flowers with a wispy tip  The flowers open from the bottom up If you are also wanting a great flower for cutting then this is also a great choice.

 

Veronica longifolia will thrive in either a full sun or partly shaded position and enjoys moist well-drained soil. The flowering period is from midsummer and can last for many months.  Perfect for pollinators.  Looks very pretty planted with our Sisyrinchium striatum
