Veronica spicata 'Blue Carpet' Spiked Speedwell. This is an excellent small and neat variety of Spike Speedwell. It grows into a low bushy mound or tuft of dark green leaves, upon which short spikes of bright violet-blue flowers rise up from in early summer for several weeks. So useful in the garden as an edging plant, in the rock garden or in tubs and containers as it has a natural tendency to spread out a little. Shear lightly after blooming to encourage repeat flowering in the autumn. Easily divided in spring or early autumn.
This little cutie grows 20 cm tall and spreads 30 cm wide. Add compost in spring to keep it happy, then add a little more when you trim it back after its first flush. of course, because its blue, the bees will love it too!
