Ajuga reptans variegata "Burgundy Glow" makes a very attractive groundcover that is happy with average to medium moisture, in full sun to part shade. Whilst it will happily grow in full shade, but best foliage colour usually occurs in part-sun locations where it can get at least 3-4 hours a day.

Divide plants if they become overcrowded. You can cut Ajuga to the ground after flowering to rejuvenate the foliage. If you are wanting to achieve a quick ground cover then you would look to space plants about 15cm apart. With any variegated forms of plants, you should always promptly remove any non-variegated leaves that may appear. This variety has whorls of tiny violet-blue flowers that appear in mid to late spring and carry on through summer. Looks fantastic planted en masse.
