Angelica pachycarpa
Commonly known as Angelica Shiny Leaf this Angelica is used for decorative purposes and used a lot in floral work. Angelia pachycarpa is not edible, but it can be candied to decorate cakes and pastries for decorative purposes. The leaves are as the name suggests both shiny and attractive in the garden.
Angelica is a biennial, putting on leaf growth in its first year and then flowering the second year, setting seed and then it will die off but it will self-sow if the seed heads are not removed. Angelica is a stout fleshy plant with bright green umbels of flowers that likes moist, rich soil that is slightly acid, performing best in semi-shade. Young plants will die back in winter and will need mulching in frost-prone areas to protect the crown of the plant and then they will re-emerge in spring and produce their flowers.
Biennial | Will self-sow
Height approximately 1m x 0.5 metres Wide
Plant size: PB2 - Equivalent 1.2 litres
