Also known as Clustered Bellflower, Campanula glomerata is a vigorous and charming perennial that has eye-catching violet blue upward facing bell-shaped flowers that are held in dense clusters on strong sturdy stems that sit above a basal rosette of oval green leaves. Each cluster of flowers can have up to fifteen flowers on it. Flowering occurs for two to three weeks from late spring to early summer. If you cut your flowers, Campanula glomerata Superba will reward you with a second flush.
Happy in any soil type it is low care and is loved by both bees and butterflies. It is happiest in full sun to partial shade and in hotter climates, partial shade is preferred, but does enjoy regular moisture.
An excellent cut flower that can last up to two weeks in a vase. If you wish to stop it from self-sowing be sure to cut off the flower stems. Easily divided in either spring or autumn. We also have this lovely variety available in white.
