Caryopteris is also known as Bluebeard.

It's a beautiful compact deciduous shrub which has a round habit and produces a profusion of wonderfully scented deep blue-purple flowers from late summer to early autumn. Such a cool colour that has much value at a time when lots of other plants are giving their best in warmer tones.

Very attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators, the flowers contrast beautifully to their dark green aromatic leaves.

Grows to 1.2 metres tall and wide

Needs well drained soils and is drought tolerant.
