Parthenocissus quinquefolia | Virginia Creeper
Available in limited numbers for a limited time.
A beautiful climbing vine, very popular in Europe where it's grown up the brick walls of homes and gardens as it provides fabulous autumn colour without causing damage to its host as ivy does. Its little tendrils have tiny round feet the end which gently sucker themselves to the host they are climbing up.
Lovely five-leaved green foliage throughout spring and summer, which turns to vibrant red for autumn, before the leaves fall away leaving a light and architectural structure of vine branches for the winter. Just a great plant but will need commitment to stop it from scrambling up trees and along the ground. In my experience it is well behaved once its boundaries are in place and easily removed from where it's not welcome!
Any vines that are cut off make wonderful wreaths too!
Pot size: 2.5 litre
