A lovely plant for the shade garden, that is very easy to grow. Dicentra eximia Alba or Lamprocapnos as it is correctly known is an excellent performer that is long flowering with pretty nodding, heart-shaped flowers with deeply cut, fern-like foliage.
The white flowers are heart-shaped with an inner petal that drips from the outer petals creating the appearance that the heart is bleeding, hence the name bleeding heart. Dicentra eximia prefers a partially shaded site with well-drained soil. Planted with other shade lovers such as ferns, hellebores and aquilegias - we have plenty of these lovely plants available. Dicentra eximia will add a charming look to any woodland or shade garden.
