Dicentra spectabilis
A rare find!
Old-fashioned and romantic, with arched stems of heart-shaped flowers in spring and summer, this plant is a must for a shady spot in your garden.
Also known as Bleeding Heart, or Lady in a Bath ( turn the flower upside down and gently pull the pink heart apart..), it now has a new name, Lamprocapnos spectabilis
Needs a shady spot and cool, moist soil to perform at its best.
Cut back the blooms after it has flowered, the leaves will go away as the summer gets hotter. Make sure the soil around it never dries out though, a good compost mulch will help and is all it needs to feed it.
It is a true herbaceous perennial, and will come back year after year, and form a decent sized clump which can easily divided.
Grows to 1metre tall and about 50cm wide.
Pot size: 1 litre
