This is very rare bulbous perennial plant that grows up to 20cm tall. Each plant grows two leaves, which may be plain or with dark spots. They are dormant through summer, but then, in the winter, they produce lovely racemes of tubular soft blue/lilac to white flowers on a spike. These are such a lovely plant to have, they herald the arrival of spring and are a true collectors plant. Grow in free draining soil (all bulbs prefer not to be wet) and give them some shade. Under a deciduous tree is perfect.
