Monarda didyma "Mahogany" also known as Bee Balm has beautiful rich shaggy Mahogany coloured flowers with a lovely minty scented foliage. This plant is definitely going to get your bees abuzz with excitement as well as bees, butterflies are also attracted to it. It is happy in sun or shade although in hot areas does appreciate some shade. It is easy to grow and its fragrant leaves make a lovely tea as it is, in fact, an aromatic herb. This plant looks lovely with Achillea, Cranesbill Geraniums as well as Phlox all of which we have available. Can be easily divided every 2-3 years, by simply digging up a clump and locating to where you want it. Deciduous in Winter. A fabulous cut flower. Soil should be kept evenly moist so some mulch will do the trick.
