A beautiful pure white penstemon with buds that are creamy with the palest pink tinge that open to pure white. An excellent flower for cutting, flowering from early Spring and continuously throughout the year in our mild climate. Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering. Penstemons thrive in a well drained soil and are actually quite drought tolerant although a layer of mulch is appreciated. Plants have a bushy upright growth habit.
The best way to keep your plants looking great is to give them a light trim before winter, leaving most of the stems as protection for the basal shoots. When the basal shoots grow away strongly in Spring and are about 5 to 10cm long, trim away all the previous year’s growth, and this will ensure a fresh flush of growth.
Penstemons also make a great cut flower so are a wonderful choice for the cutting patch, and this pure white variety will make a beautiful contribution to your white garden or in your mixed border.
