Salvia involucrata var. puberula | Hidalgo
S. involucrata 'Hidalgo' is a beautiful perennial salvia, we love its common name of Roseleaf Sage, which tells us that its leaves are reminicent of roses by their shape. The flowers and bracts bloom a vibrant pink, and features a distinctively different rounded floral structure located at the head, as compared to the rest of the flowers that emerge from bracts running along the stem.
Grows best in full sun but will tolerate some shade.
Grows to a wonderful 2 metres tall and 1.2 metres wide. Makes a lovely statement in the garden with its showy pink flowers, which start as round, dusky rose pink buds that open to rose pink calyxes with bright pink flowers from early spring to autumn.
Deadheading flowers ensures more flowering throughout the season. In warmer milder zones, it will continue to bloom into the winter. Can be picked as a cut flower and the bees adore them! We encourage trimming back down to around 40 cm tall in early spring to encourage new growth. Divide every 3-5 years to keep it looking great. Gorgeous treasure!
Pot Sizes: 1 Litre & 2.5 Litre
