Salvia mexicana | Limelight
The uniquely coloured flower spikes of Salvia mexicana "Limelight", is an autumn flowering Mexican Sage that has an eye-popping combination of chartreuse bracts and violet coloured flowers. Whilst it is not a fan of frost, it survives mild frosts. I love a bunch of it in a vase and whilst it does not last overly long, you can normally get a few days out of it.
Provide a moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Cut tips back early in the season for a bushier plant. If pruning, do not cut it back by more than half as too much of a harsh pruning may kill it! You can split these plants, but do this in spring. Loved by bees and pollinators.
Height 2m x 1.8m Wide
Perennial
Pot Size: 1 Litre
