Scabiosa caucasica "Fama White" is the most beautiful perennial scabiosa. With long stems and pure white flowers that rise high above the mounds of dense lance-shaped leaves to create a waft of white each flower has a silvery pincushion centre. These stunning flowers can reach up to 10cm wide.
This plant is adored by flower arrangers, and they are considered to be the best strain for cutting.
Whilst this scabiosa is relatively easy to grow and they are they super hardy to below -18°C not that we get that here, but the biggest trick to success with this plant is excellent drainage.
Scabiosa flower profusely the more they are cut and throughout the whole summer, and last well into autumn. They are a favourite of both bees and butterflies.
