Dicentra eximia or Lamprocapnos as it is now known as well as Fringed Bleeding Heart is a pretty, delicate little plant that is great to use to plant over the top of bulbs to hide the foliage as it dies back, edging or underplanting shrubs. 

Flowers are held on arched stems and are a deep rose pink little heart-shaped lockets and are also good for cutting. The foliage is attractive and is fern-like and grey green in colour.

Plants usually flower from mid to late spring and sometimes into summer just depending on the summer rainfall and temperatures.  Easy care the plants thrive in part shade and are easily grown in moist but well-drained soil.  They will tolerate full shade but you will find that they do not flower as well. 

Height 35-40cm tall with flower stems standing above the foliage.
