Richly coloured, dark succulent leaves spiraling around sturdy stems, these lovely plants can get to 50 cm tall when they push out their bright yellow spikes of blooms in late winter! They are a sight to behold. They need to be trimmed after blooming, so that more of the rosettes of those dark burgundy leaves can replace the gap the flower leaves. Easily propagated by cutting a stem off, leaving it aside for a couple of days and planting into well drained soil. These are featured en masse in the stumpery here at Addenbrooke and are always a talking point!
