Astilbe x arendsii 'Cattleya’ is a lovely tall variety which blooms in large panicles of bright orchid pink flowers on sturdy upright stems, growing up to 1 metre tall, and rising above its foliage which is tinged with red as it emerges, but matures to dark green.
Grows in dappled shade or full shade and blooms from mid-summer to early autumn.
Plant with plenty of compost and add mulch in spring to keep the soil around moist and the plant happy. Great as a cut flower and the pollinators love them too!
