Babiana stricta | Mixed
This is actually a hybrid flower with freesia-like flowers in shades of blue, purple, magenta, and pink. The flowers are not fragrant, which makes them ideal for gardens with low allergies. The flowers bloom in late spring and early summer and will grows to a height of 20 cm. Babiana Mixed has dark green foliage that creates a fan-like clump, contrasting with the flowers. Babiana is really easy to grow and prefers sunny, dry positions. It can be planted in pots and containers or naturalized in borders and rockeries. The plant prefers rich, well-drained soil, so you can dig through well broken-down compost or manure before planting. Plant the bulbs 5–7 cm deep with the rough side down and pointy end up.
Just wonderful for cut flowers. You don't need to prune it, but you can trim back spent flowers. You don't see these around very much these days!
3 bulbs to a pot, 1 litre pot.
Available again next Autumn
