Picea glauca | Albertiana Conica
Picea glauca 'Albertiana Conica' is a lovely dwarf conifer with a conical shape, mid-green colour, and pale new shoots in spring. It's also known as the Alberta spruce or dwarf white spruce. It grows slowly, reaching a height of just 90 cm–1.2 m and a spread of 45–60 cm in about 10 years. (Great for the Christmas decs) She grows best in full sun, away from cold winds, and in well-drained soils. It can tolerate light shade, but too much sun exposure, excessive heat, or winter burn from harsh winds can cause yellowing and browning.
She is completely hardy and has won the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) from the Royal Horticultural Society. It's easy to grow and care for, and doesn't require pruning.
Excellent in containers, rockeries, and mixed beds. A lovely plant for winter interest too.
