This beautiful jewel toned Heuchera, appropriately named 'Amethyst' is perfect for adding rich colour and texture to a mostly shady spot in the garden. Wavy edged, purple leaves have vivid cerise coloured undersides, which are always visible when even the slightest breeze moves them. Flowers are 80cm high, with white spires in summer and are great for picking and just lovely for adding movement to posies and flower arrangements. Prefers reasonably well-drained soil with semi shade. Wonderful contrasting leaves, especially if planted at the front of borders with bright green leaved plants behind it. Semi-deciduous, it tends to shrink somewhat over winter but it's hardy and evergreen, and so will grow back and thrive in spring providing it doesn't get too wet. Add compost as a mulch in spring to keep it happy.

Leaf spread growth to about 30 cm tall and wide without blooms. Frost tolerant.
