Papaver rhoeas | Amazing Grey

Papaver rhoeas | Amazing Grey

A very unique petite flowered grey Shirley poppy.  The colour of this poppy is just stunning in shades of grey and mauve and unlike anything else out there. The plants are quick to grow and produce prolifically - once the petals have dropped, they leave behind these little chocolate coloured seed pods.

Amazing Grey requires full sun. Plants resent root disturbance so we recommend literally digging your hole where you want to plant her and then literally cut the bag and pop her into the hole gently firming the soil around her and then water in with something like Seasol which helps with transplant shock. Plant out into the garden after all danger of frost has passed.

Whilst the individual flowers are short-lived, they will normally last about 3-4 days in a vase if you sear the stem ends for about 7-10 seconds in boiling water.  Harvest the flowers when they are just opening.

Please note these are seed grown and as such on occasion the colour maybe different to what we have detailed - this is the beauty of nature
