Scabiosa columbaria | Pink Mist
A pink version of our popular Scabiosa columbaria, which is a clump-forming dainty perennial. In the summer the plants bear tall wiry stems that pop up above the finely cut leaves.
The flowers of Scabiosa 'Pink Mist' are a very pretty pink colour in the typical petalled, pincushion style of Scabiosas- although these flowers are smaller and more dainty than other varieties (it's also called small scabious, or dwarf pincushion plant).
These gorgeous plants flower for weeks on end in late summer for months on end - often we find up to five months. These plants will thrive in a sunny well drained spot and have the added advantage of gently seeding themselves about so you can easily relocate any unwanted little ones to other areas of your garden, or gift to gardening friends. As with all Scabiosas they are a magnet for bees and butterflies. Deadhead to encourage re flowering.
We find this a very useful little plant to have around, a great filler, and gently colour when other plants may not be at their best.
These little flowers are also great for cutting and last well in a vase, so the perfect choice for your cutting garden as well as your perennial border. They are very cute picked for a mini flower vase with other daintier flowers!
